• Location: Mandurah, Western Australia
• Salary: Start from AUD 73.150 per year

• About the Role: 

List of responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate a small kitchen team (5-6 chefs/cooks, 3 kitchen hands)
• Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, inventory management, and staff scheduling.
• Create, develop, and update the restaurant’s menu with seasonal and innovative dishes.
• Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and kitchen assistants.
• Maintain consistency in food preparation and presentation across all shifts.
• Monitor and manage food costs, labour costs, and kitchen expenses.
• Oversee the ordering, storage, and inventory of ingredients and supplies.
• Assist General Manager with staff rostering and coordination staff leave.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent
• Minimum 3 years’ experience performing the role as a head chef and managing a kitchen team.
• Sound knowledge of HACCP food safety and hygiene procedures
• Proven leadership and team management experience, with the ability to train, mentor, and inspire kitchen staff.
• Strong background in menu planning, development, and execution, with a focus on innovative and seasonal dishes.

• Possession of a valid English language certificate is mandatory, with a minimum overall score of 5.5 and no individual component scoring below 5.0 on the IELTS test.
• Successful completion of a Skill Assessment from the appropriate Australian skill assessing authorities (TRA or VETASSESS) may be required, contingent on your passport or the location of your placement.
