JOB DESCRIPTION: As part of our team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning menus, estimating meals and labour expenses, and ordering food components
  • Discussing food preparation problems with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and ready personnel
  • Monitor food standards with particular attention to maintaining high quality and consistency in flavour and presentation.
  • Ensure establishment running requirements and applicable legal guidelines and rules are observed.
  • Working along our banquet manager in making plans the easy strolling of MICE events.
  • Explaining and implementing hygiene guidelines
  • May additionally select and teach workforce
  • Monitor staffing to manage costs.
  • Establish ongoing healthy relationships with food suppliers and vendors.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? To be considered for this opportunity, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Relevant qualification to an AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience, or 3 years if the qualification is not directly related
  • Demonstrated English proficiency (IELTS: 5.0 for each test component, PTE Academic: 36 for each test component, TOEFL iBT: total score of 35 with minimum 4 in listening and reading, and 14 in speaking and writing). The test must have been taken within the past 2 years. Higher scores may be required based on visa requirements.
  • Strong employment references to verify your previous and current work experience. Additional documentation, such as payslips, social or health insurance records, and tax documents, may be requested for visa application purposes.
  • Relevant occupational training, skill, or competency certificates (e.g., HACCP, Food Safety Standard)
  • Valid Skill Assessment outcome from relevant Australian skill assessing authorities (Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) or VETASSESS) may be required, depending on your passport or the position’s location.
  • No age limitations for the sponsorship program, but a maximum age of 45 for the Permanent Resident pathway (age concessions may be available for regional positions).
  • Clean criminal record and ability to pass a national police check.
