Are you a skilled chef with a background in American food? We are currently seeking an American chef to join our talent pool and provide your expertise to the kitchens of our clients.

• About the Role: 

As an American chef, your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of dishes and cooking techniques. You will be tasked with preparing diverse cuisines, ranging from burgers and barbecues to tacos. This entails employing various cooking techniques such as grilling, smoking, barbecuing, and stir-frying.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with the head chef to create and update menus, considering factors such as seasonality, ingredient availability, and customer preferences.
• Preparing and cooking dishes to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation, which encompasses techniques such as grilling, roasting, sautéing, baking, frying, and braising.
• Work closely with suppliers to source seasonal, locally sourced, or specialty ingredients and ensure that they meet the standards of the establishment.
• Supervising kitchen staff, organising work schedules, managing inventory, and maintaining kitchen equipment.
• Analysing ingredient costs, portion sizes, and menu pricing strategies.

Requirements:

• Complete a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or a related qualification
• At least three years of experience cooking American cuisine.
• Demonstrated proficiency in American cuisine, including knowledge of traditional techniques, ingredients, and flavours.
• Have good communication skills and attitude, familiar with teamwork.

• A valid English language certification, such as the IELTS, with no component below 5.0 and an overall score of at least 5.5 is required.
• You may need to successfully complete a skill assessment administered by the relevant Australian skill assessing authorities (TRA or VETASSESS), depending on the location of your placement or your passport.
