  • Position: Sushi Chef
  • Location: WA, Australia

  • About the Role: As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality sushi and sashimi, working closely with the head chef to create an authentic Japanese dining experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a wide variety of sushi dishes, including rolls, nigiri, and sashimi.
  • Ensure the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
  • Manage inventory and order ingredients as needed.
  • Train junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques.

Requirements:

  • Minimum certificate IV in commercial cookery or higher.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a sushi-focused kitchen.
  • Strong knife skills and knowledge of sushi preparation.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene certifications preferred.

  • A valid English language certificate (IELTS minimum overall score of 5.5, with no band below 5.0).
  • Completion of Skill Assessment through TRA or VETASSESS may be required depending on the candidate’s passport or placement location.
