• About the Role: 

As a Sushi Chef you will be responsible for crafting delicate rolls to perfecting nigiri and sashimi, your precision and creativity will delight diners and elevate their culinary experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble and prepare a range of sushi plates in compliance with specified guidelines and presentation requirements.
• Make sure the cuisine is of the greatest calibre, freshness, and consistency possible.
• To keep sufficient stock levels, control inventories and place supply orders.
• Take care of all food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Work together with the culinary team to create new specials and menu items.
• Teach junior kitchen employees how to make sushi and act as a mentor to them.

Requirements:

• Attain a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or a relevant certification.
• Three years minimum of experience as a sushi chef or in a related position.
• A good understanding of the components, methods, and customs of sushi.
• Possess a positive outlook, effective communication skills, and teamwork experience.

Applicants who require sponsorship must fulfil the following criteria, in addition to those mentioned above:

• A valid English language certification, such as the IELTS, with no component below 5.0 and an overall score of at least 5.5 is required.
• You may need to successfully complete a skill assessment administered by the relevant Australian skill assessing authorities (TRA or VETASSESS), depending on the location of your placement or your passport.
