Are you an experienced Chef with a busy kitchen? We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic talent pool.

• About the Role: 

As a Sous Chef, you will play a key role in assisting the head chef in the overall management of the kitchen, ensuring the delivery of exceptional dining experiences through the creation of high-quality, innovative dishes.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the head chef in developing and updating the menu, emphasising creativity and adherence to culinary standards.
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensuring consistency and excellence in taste, texture, and appearance.
• Lead and inspire kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain a high level of performance.
• Contribute to the management of kitchen operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and cost control.
• Uphold health and safety standards, enforcing proper food handling and sanitation practices.
• Ensure the efficient flow of service, coordinating with the front-of-house team to meet and exceed guest expectations.

Requirements:

• Completion of a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent
• Proven experience as a chef (minimum 3 years) in a high-volume restaurant environment
• Have good communication skills and attitude, familiar with teamwork.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities to manage a fast-paced kitchen environment.

• Having a valid English language certificate is a requirement, with an IELTS test score of at least 5.5 overall and no component falling below 5.0.
• Successful completion of a Skill Assessment from the appropriate Australian skill assessing authorities (TRA or VETASSESS) may be required, contingent on your passport or the location of your placement.
