  • Sous Chef

JOB DESCRIPTION:ย As part of our team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide hands on leadership with the day to day management of kitchen and FOH team members
  • Ensure that company policy is fully briefed and understood during induction and fully adhered to at all times
  • Monitor the kitchen cleaning rosters at all times and ensures cleaning check lists are being completed
  • Deliver menus for both daily cafรฉ use and provide innovative and flexible menu options for functions and events
  • Manage stock control and security of food storage areas
  • Assist Exec Chef for counting of the monthly food stock
  • Support the Head Chef with the development of menus, recipes, and sourcing of produce.
  • Assist in the development of operational procedures and manuals to drive consistent performance.
  • Deliver shift operations in line with approved rosters and budgets.
  • Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • To be considered for these exciting culinary opportunities, you must meet the following requirements:
  • Relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/Patisserie or higher.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant working experience, or 3 years if the qualification is not directly related.
  • Demonstrated English proficiency (meeting specific test score requirements).
  • Strong employment references validating previous and current work experiences.
  • Relevant occupational training, skill, or competency certificates (e.g., HACCP, Food Safety Standard, etc.).
  • Valid Skill Assessment outcome from relevant Australian skill assessing authorities (TRA or VETASSESS) may be necessary based on your passport or placement location.
  • Clean criminal record and the ability to pass a national police check.
