About the Role

Motor mechanics diagnose and repair mechanical issues in various vehicles, including cars, trucks, and SUVs. Their work includes dismantling engines, transmissions, steering systems, and other components to check for faults, then reassembling and testing them to ensure proper performance. They also perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations, and conduct thorough vehicle checks to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and SUVs.
• Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts.
• After repairing engines and parts, your duties will involve reassembling them and testing and adjusting mechanical components for proper performance.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify any potential issues and provide recommendations for repairs.

What We Are Looking For

Requirements:

• Complete a certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or a related qualification.
• A minimum of two years of Motor Mechanic work experience.
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in automotive technology, tools, and techniques.
• Have good communication skills and attitude, familiar with teamwork.
• Training or additional certification to specialise in a specific area of automotive repair, such as diesel engines, automotive electronics, or hybrid vehicles is a plus.

• Having a valid English language certificate is a requirement, with an IELTS test score of at least 6.0 overall and no component falling below 6.0
• Successful completion of a Skill Assessment from the appropriate Australian skill assessing authorities (TRA) may be required, contingent on your passport or the location of your placement.
