For Lead Small Engine Mechanic 

We are recruiting on behalf of a respected Perth-based repair and maintenance specialist for small engines and diamond-tipped construction equipment (including generators, saws, compactors, and grinders).

This is not an automotive mechanic role. We’re looking for a trade-qualified small engine professional with leadership experience who can manage a busy workshop, guide a small team, and deliver high-quality repairs for precision construction gear.

Work type: Full time

Location: Perth, Western Australia

Salary: AUD 90,000 – 110,000 per year

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead and mentor mechanics and apprentices in the workshop
• Diagnose, repair, and service small petrol and diesel engines, compactors, grinders, saws, and generators
• Manage job scheduling and oversee workflow for on-time delivery
• Control workshop tools, parts, and inventory levels
• Communicate clearly with customers and suppliers
• Maintain safety and compliance standards at all times

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience with small engines or construction plant
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
• Previous leadership or workshop supervision experience preferred
• Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Valid driver’s licence (trade certification highly regarded)
• Welding/fabrication and workshop software knowledge is a plus
• Possession of a valid English language certificate is mandatory, with a minimum overall score of 5.5 and no individual component scoring below 5.0 on the IELTS test.
