Job Description

Our client is a Heritage listed Hotel located in Bridgetown, Western Australia. Known for their commitment to excellence and innovation in the culinary arts, they operate functions, live entertainments and dinners with an emphasis on locally fresh amazing food, wines, exciting cocktails, excellent customer service and a great experience! They are currently looking for  experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead their talented kitchen team.

 

Location: Bridgetown, Western Australia

Salary: Start from AUD 73.150 per year

Benefit: Superannuation & other competitive remuneration package

List of job descriptions:

 

  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations while keeping the kitchen clean and organised.
  • Guide and mentor junior kitchen staff, promoting a collaborative and positive working environment.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health and hygiene standards, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen.
  • Support food purchasing, inventory management, and cost control efforts, including effective wastage management.

 

List of responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee and manage the kitchen team as directed by the chef/owners, ensuring efficient and seamless operations.
  • Design and develop menus that showcase the traditional and seasonal flavors of the region.
  • Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes, consistently upholding high culinary standards.
  • Support food purchasing, inventory management, and cost control efforts.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Completion of a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience performing the role as a head chef and managing a kitchen team.
  • Sound knowledge of HACCP food safety and hygiene procedures
  • Proven leadership and team management experience, with the ability to train, mentor, and inspire kitchen staff.
  • Strong background in menu planning, development, and execution, with a focus on innovative and seasonal dishes.

 

For applicants seeking sponsorship, the following criteria must be met in addition to the above:

  • Possession of a valid English language certificate is mandatory, with a minimum overall score of 5.5 and no individual component scoring below 5.0 on the IELTS test.
  • Successful completion of a Skill Assessment from the appropriate Australian skill assessing authorities (TRA or VETASSESS) may be required, contingent on your passport.
