• About the Role: 

As an American Chef, you will be responsible for crafting and presenting classic American dishes, ranging from comfort food staples to modern twists on traditional favourites. Your expertise in grilling, smoking, and Southern-style cooking will be crucial as you design menus that highlight the best of American flavours

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook authentic American dishes with a focus on quality and presentation.
• Develop and design innovative menus inspired by regional American flavours.
• Oversee kitchen operations, including food preparation, plating, and portioning.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain a clean and organised kitchen.
• Manage kitchen staff and assist in training junior chefs

Requirements:

• At least a Certificate IV in commercial cookery or above
• A minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a chef specialising in American cuisine
• Exceptional leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of traditional and contemporary American cooking techniques.
• Certifications in Food Safety and Hygiene are preferred.

Applicants who need sponsorship must meet the following criteria, in addition to the previously mentioned requirements:

• A valid English language certificate is needed, with an overall IELTS score of at least 5.5 and no individual section scoring less than 5.0.

Depending on where you are placed or your nationality, you may need to complete a skill assessment from either TRA or VETASSESS, the relevant Australian skill assessing authorities.
